The role:

Note: - Please refer to the Statement of Duties for all the selection criteria of this position to address in your application.

The team:

To be Tasmanian is to pursue quality over quantity. We create, preserve, and protect the unusual. With quiet confidence, and with hard work and hope, we pursue the extraordinary. Could you be Tasmanian?

You can be a Podiatrist anywhere. What’s different about Tasmania is our culture and our lifestyle. You will be encouraged to be yourself, to learn, to grow and to develop meaning in your work. You will have a powerful connection to your patients, and the community will encourage your success. Our isolation helps drive a culture of invention and human connection, which feels both old fashioned and… like the only future worth pursuing. Here you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to breath-taking coastlines, National Parks or award-winning restaurants or bars. After a hard day at work, you don’t have to sit in a car or a train for an hour. You can get on your bike or put on your boots and “tell it to the mountain”.

Some people surf in the early mornings and weekends, or take painting classes, write novels, sell preserves at the weekly farmers’ market, become a wine connoisseur. We are small enough in Tasmania for you to shape and influence your work and make a real impact every day. Yet we are big enough for you to feel part of something important, somewhere you can belong and be surrounded by diversity, innovation, and friendships. Tasmanians are connected to the land where we live, and to the stories of the people who have cared for this place for tens of thousands of years.

We are a close-knit group of 20 in our Podiatry team. We are based at the Royal Hobart Hospital, our state’s largest acute centre. Many of our group have achieved Endorsement for Scheduled Medicines while working with us and we can support you to do the same. We are continuously growing, developing new services and re-designing old ones. It’s an exciting and rewarding place to work, featuring contemporary, evidence-informed practise including the use of F-Scan plantar pressure mapping. Your role will see you provide outpatient and community outreach services with a focus on high-risk foot conditions and acute foot problems and will be closely linked to the multidisciplinary team. We’ll look after you from the very beginning, ensure you are fully inducted and welcomed into our team and into our culture. Your fellow Allied Health colleagues, as well as the Nursing, Endocrinology, Infectious Disease, Vascular and Hyperbaric specialists will rely on you thriving in your work and will be invested in making this a reality. Take a look at the Statement of Duties below for more details.
