Job Description:
The Aged Care Department is seeking applications for registrar to join the team of junior doctors and Consultants with potential rotations including the Royal Hobart Hospital Older Persons Unit, the Orthogeriatrics liaison service, the RHH Consults service, Jasmine Unit (at the Royal Fagan Centre, focusing on rehabilitation in patients with BPSD) and P1/P3 (multidisciplinary rehabilitation).
Preferences for rotations will be discussed between the trainee and Director of Clinical Teaching in Aged Care prior to commencement, considering educational objectives.
The position is suitable for BPT trainees, GP Registrars and those interested in Advanced Training in Geriatrics.

Salary
$97,946 - $138,593 per annum

Fixed term, full time day work (part time hours may be considered), 80 hours per fortnight, commencing 12 June 2023 until 05 February 2024 (24 months negotiable)

Duties
The Registrar is responsible for the day to day management of private & public inpatients/outpatients and provides afterhours emergency cover at the hospital.
Essential Requirements
- General or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
- Current Tasmanian Working with Children Registration (where applicable and as determined by individual position requirements).
The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:
1. Conviction checks in the following areas:
a) Crimes of Violence
b) Sex Related Offences
c) Serious Drug Offences
d) Crimes involving dishonesty
2. Identification check
3. Disciplinary action in previous employment check.
