Job Description:

Manage Laboratory: Will be in charge of ordering materials and supplies for lab, approving time sheets for Undergraduate Students/OPS working in the lab, electronic notebook set up and maintenance, EH&S Chemical Waste and Biohazard Management & Safety, maintaining the Chemical Inventory for the lab per US EH&S guidelines and making sure that the laboratory follows standard UF policies.

Conduct Experiments: Conduct a variety of experiments in the laboratory including Bacterial Physiology, Bacterial Genetics, Western Blot, tRNA preparation and analysis, Protein Purification, and Electrophoresis. Modify or adjust lab experiments, protocols, or procedures as needed. Communicate results and adjustments with Biological Scientist III, PI, and the lab team.

Contribute to scientific manuscripts

Mentoring undergraduates

Other duties as assigned

Expected Salary:

$46,000-$48,000
Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in biology or a closely related field and three years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree in biology or a closely related field and one year of relevant experience; Doctoral degree in biology or a closely related field.
Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in Microbiology. Experience working in a laboratory setting.
