End User Computing Spec I

Job Description:

Assists with the installation and implementation of desktop and mobile computing devices, printers and other peripheral devices, and wireless computing and communications devices for UF Research. Provides technical support. Maintains and manages inventory, asset management and configuration.

Assist users with initial sign-on and access to software and files as designated unit and role. Provides technical assistance in on-boarding and off-boarding UF Research staff.

Provides Tier 2 support to users for basic software and hardware of end-user computing needs. Serves as a help desk technician to log and resolve request tickets.

Escalates to Tier 3 support when necessary. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

Associate’s degree; or a high school diploma or equivalent and two years of relevant experience. Appropriate college coursework may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Associate’s degree; or a high school diploma or equivalent and two years of relevant experience. Appropriate college coursework may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Documented working knowledge of networking technologies and preferred industry practices. Working knowledge of Microsoft and Apple operating systems and software is required. Ability to install and configure a wide range of peripherals and software on a variety of devices.

Working knowledge of smart mobile devices and applications. Knowledge of the basic terminology, concepts and techniques of data processing and computer programming. Ability to think logically, analyze and solve problems, interpret technical information relating to computer hardware and software.

Customer service focused. Ability to effectively communicate technical information verbally and in writing, establish and maintain effective work relationships with others. Knowledge of and demonstrable experience in delivering consistent and stable production-level services is required.

Ability to organize and manage complex activities and to complete assignments in a timely fashion with attention to detail and accuracy with exceptional interpersonal, and communication skills are required.
