Are you a Rural Generalist or Rural General Practice Trainee – ready to undertake your advanced skills training??

The THS are excited to be offering opportunities to complete advanced skills in the North West, North and South and in the following disciplines for the 2024 training year;

Emergency Medicine

Mental Health

Palliative Care

Adult internal medicine

Paediatrics

Anaesthetics

Surgery

Obstetrics and Gynaecology

*note that some roles are site specific, and are not all available at all 3 locations

We can also assist you in organising your Advanced Skills Training in Academic Practice, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health, Remote Practice and Population Health

These roles will be suitable for Fellowed GPs as well as trainees from both ACRRM and RACGP. They are suitable for trainees on any training pathway, including those who are on or are interested in joining the Tasmanian Single Employer Model Pilot in 2024. All roles are also suitable for trainees who are not yet on an official pathway, but who wish to complete the training and seek RPL once accepted to a college.

If successful, we will tailor your training to your preferred region, hospital and discipline based on your preferences and final availability for the 2024 training year.

Finally, these positions will also come with additional education and training support by the THS NW Director, Rural Generalist Training and Development, and the Tasmanian Rural Generalist Pathway Coordination Unit, to help you achieve your training goals and career aspirations!

Please note that applicants must have general or unconditional registration with the Medical Board of Australia to be eligible to apply for these positions.

Fixed term full time, day worker position working 80 hours per fortnight/as and when required, commencing from February 2024 until February 2025

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant

Salary: $97,946 - $116,260 per annum + 10.5% superannuation + access to salary packaging

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

  1. General or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia

  2. Enrolled in the relevant speciality training program

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

  1. Current Driver’s Licence (If applicable to allocated role)
