Fixed term, full time, day worker (with on-call), position working 76 hours per fortnight, for a period of three years.

Who Are We Looking For?
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Clinical Lead – Emergency Medicine, North West Regional Hospital (NWRH), to work for the Department of Health (DoH) in the North West region. This role will require the successful applicant to work with the Clinical Director - Emergency Medicine and assist with providing a high level of strategic leadership and direction, ensuring resources are efficiently utilised, services are effectively integrated within the hospital/service and the highest standards of service delivery are achieved in accordance with hospital/service policy directions, service standards and financial targets. In addition, the Clinical Lead will provide specialist emergency medical care to patients attending the Department of Emergency Medicine at the NWRH in Burnie, while some clinical shifts may be undertaken at the Mersey Community Hospital, Latrobe.
The NWRH Emergency Department has approximately 29,000 presentations annually and treat a broad range of patients. The NWRH is the regional trauma centre with a 25% admission rate. The MCH is a sub-acute hospital with limited services and a 15% admission rate.
The DoH offers a comprehensive undergraduate and graduate clinical training program, with close ties to the University of Tasmania through the Rural Clinical School. As such, you will be responsible for providing leadership and help with the delivery of the Undergraduate general medical education program.
Salary:
You will have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
You will also have access to accommodation and relocation costs.
Base salary points range for Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 1 at $163,005 – Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 11 at $228,206 with further salary increments available.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available, but not limited to:
- Allowance in lieu of private practice of 35%
- North West Recruitment and Retention allowance of 25%
- Professional Development Allowance of up to $24,927 per annum
- Fully maintained vehicle or allowance in lieu up to $25,758 per annum
- Management Allowance
- Salary range is in accordance with the Salaried Medical Practitioners Agreement 2019

- Specialist or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia in a relevant specialty
