The Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Florida College of Medicine- Jacksonville, seeks a full-time faculty member at the non-tenure accruing level of Clinical Assistant/ Associate Professor. The successful candidate will be a MD or DO, will possess a Florida Medical license or Medical Faculty Certificate and prefer Board Certified/ Board Eligible in Neurosurgery. The candidate should have a specialty interest in Cerebrovascular Neurosurgery with successful completion of Endovascular fellowship training. The candidate will also have an interest in the management of Neuro- trauma patients. This position will report to the Chairman of the Department of' Neurosurgery at the University of Florida College of Medicine-Jacksonville As a member of the Department of Neurosurgery, the individual will have the opportunity to enjoy a multidisciplinary collaboration with colleagues utilizing departmental case reviews and tumor board conferences. The successful candidate is also expected to participate in shared general neurosurgery responsibilities, teaching, and research. General Duties and Responsibilities: Major responsibilities include teaching, patient care, and research. The candidate will be responsible to provide and maintain a high level of quality and compassionate care to both in-patients and outpatients suffering from a variety of disorders consisting of' brain, spinal cord and peripheral nerve as well as endovascular disorders. The candidate will work to enhance and further develop the Acute Care Neurosurgery division in the department of Neurosurgery including building interdepartmental collaborations and treatment protocols as well as clinical and translational research and teaching of medical students, residents and fellows. Rotational Level 1 trauma call as well as Cerebrovascular call for the organization. Provide clinical teaching of trainees in Neurosurgery and participate in the educational program Assist in marketing the Neurosurgery Program to community physicians and managed care organizations. Participate in monthly division meetings, administrative functions and institutional committees as requested.
