Job Description:

Field data collection and growth measurements - These include following established procedures to image root growth and canopy growth, measure canopy density, and assess tree water relations. Gathering samples from field and greenhouse trees and implementing lab assays for growth or biochemical factors. Using equipment according to protocols to measure photosynthesis, stomatal conductance, and other physiological processes.

Data gathering and management - Analyzing images of roots and canopies using existing analysis software to generate root and canopy architecture data. Compiling data from field measurements, implementing data analysis and generating summaries according to instructions.

Plant care - Implementing field practice treatments according to protocols for designed experiments, assessing plant health and implementing pest, fertility, and irrigation management, as well as occasionally establishing plantings, and installing shading.

Administrative efforts (purchasing, paperwork) - purchasing supplies, reporting expenditures, tracking instrument, equipment, and vehicle use.
Expected Salary:

$16.00 - 18.00 per hour
Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in biology or a closely related life science field.
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in research or horticulture
