Biological Scientist II
Job Description:

Perform wet bench design, development, testing and analysis for molecular diagnostic assays.

Organize, analyze, summarize and present data for review by the Supervisor/Director.

General lab maintenance, including ordering lab supplies and maintaining equipment and records.

Miscellaneous laboratory duties (i.e., lab meetings and communications, SOP writing, etc.) necessary to complete previously described functions.

Other duties as assigned
Expected Salary:

Salary is between $46,000 - $52,000
Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in biology or a closely related field and three years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree in biology or a closely related field and one year of relevant experience; Doctoral degree in biology or a closely related field.
Preferred Qualifications:

The ability to work independently, analyze and present data, multitask, and maintain close communication with the Supervisor/Director is required. The preferred candidate would have a baccalaureate degree in biochemistry, biology, or a related field with experience with molecular biology techniques in a research or clinical laboratory. Desired skill set includes cell culture, DNA and RNA extractions, polymerase chain reaction (PCR), real-time quantitative PCR, and sequencing (Sanger, NGS, RNASeq). Experience with molecular biology software, instrumentation, and cell biology procedures is advantageous, however, knowledge of basic cellular and molecular biology is required. Excellent teamwork and communication skills are essential.
