Technical Coordinator – CP & SIMP

Work Location: Iron Bridge Fortescue’s Iron Bridge project is located on the traditional lands of the Nyamal people.

Roster: 4D3R or 8D6R FIFO ex Perth

Reporting to the Iron Bridge Senior Project Engineer, this role will be responsible for the maintenance and operations of the processing assets including the Ore Processing Facility and the Concentrate Handling Facility (OPF and CHF) via the management/execution of key assets. The Technical Coordinator is to provide project leadership and stewardship in support of the maintenance, operational, and shutdown teams in the processing plants.

Site based Project Management ensuring SIMP protocols are met, and effectively manage classified plant, structural integrity, tank integrity and safety associated with plant on site by physically checking and ensuring the documenting of the equipment on site & capturing the current condition in an effective maintenance plan in SAP

Key accountabilities will include:

  1. New Maintenance Request (M1) notifications for remedial work as required are raised and follow ups on existing notifications are done in a timely manner, and to ensure records of all tests, inspections, maintenance, and commissioning for registerable plant are documented and readily accessible.
  2. Manage a team of tradesmen and contractors to work on Pressure equipment, crane & Rotable pressure vessel’s inspection and monitor work compliance and progress and to execute projects
  3. Regular review of outstanding Maintenance Requests and maintaining project documentation to required standard
  4. Working closely with operational peers to ensure milestones and deliverables align with operational requirements, ensuring projects meet project objectives & compliance requirements as outlined by Senior project Engineer
  5. Ensuring on–site compliance with safety protocols
  6. Assist Sr Project engineer with ensuring Structural Integrity Management Procedure (SIMP) is followed and meeting compliance requirements

Qualifications and skills required:

  1. Minimum 3+ years fixed plant Ore Processing or heavy industry experience in an engineering trade and/or projects role
  2. Vocational qualification in Mechanical Engineering or mechanical trade qualification
  3. Prior experience managing a team of tradesmen and contractors
  4. Proficiency with Structural Integrity requirements, Tanks Integrity requirements and classified plant equipment integrity requirements
  5. Strong Coordination and Contracting skills and Knowledge of SIMP requirements
  6. Great communication skills: ability to facilitate meetings and communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders and advanced Excel skills.
