The Department of Health seeks a highly motivated and team orientated Radiation Therapist at the WP Holman Clinic, Launceston, Tasmania. The department has two high energy linear accelerators, CT simulator, 3D planning system and a high dose rate brachytherapy unit.

The Radiation Therapist is responsible for the planning and treatment of patients as prescribed by a Radiation Oncologist under the supervision of a Senior Radiation Therapist or Area Supervisor

Radiation Therapy techniques used in Launceston include IMRT, VMAT, DIBH, SBRT & IGRT.

The Holman Clinic is part of the Northern Cancer Service which provides an integrated radiation therapy, medical oncology and haematological service to Northern Tasmania.

Details of Appointment

Permanent, full time, day work position working 76 hours per fortnight commencing ASAP.

*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant

Salary: $76,421 - $114,333 per annum + 10.5% superannuation + access to salary packaging

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

  1. Registered with the Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia

The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:

  1. Conviction checks in the following areas:
    1. crimes of violence
    2. sex related offences
    3. serious drug offences
    4. crimes involving dishonesty

  3. Disciplinary action in previous employment check.
