Job Description:
The Role:
- The Enrolled Nurse will provide direct patient centred nursing care to assigned patients, within the scope of practice of an enrolled nurse and under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse/midwife to achieve planned patient outcomes.

The Hospital:
The Emergency Department (ED) at the North West Regional Hospital is an energetic and fast-paced environment which provides the North West Coast region with a high level of care through a 16 cubicle space ED, fast track and an Emergency Medical Unit (EMU). The department has 2 fully equipped resuscitation bays, a purpose-built mental health assessment area, a negative pressure isolation room as well as 4 negative flow single rooms. The NWRH ED is the referral hospital for the North West Region of Tasmania.
The Emergency Department has an annual attendance rate of approx. 29,000 patients per year. Approximately 30% of these patients are admitted for further treatment and care. The Department treats a broad range of patients including major trauma cases and the ED is supported by a wide range of specialties, generally only referring a small number of patients out of the region.
Details of Appointment
Permanent, part time, shift-worker position working up to 56 hours per fortnight, commencing ASAP
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant
- Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.
Salary: $63,083 - $69,835 per annum (pro rata) + 10.5% superannuation + access to salary packaging
- Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2019
Eligibility:
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:
- Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as an Enrolled Nurse (holds a Board-approved qualification in administration of medicines)
The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:
- Conviction checks in the following areas:
- crimes of violence
- sex related offences
- serious drug offences
- crimes involving dishonesty
- Identification check
- Disciplinary action in previous employment check.
