Job Description: |
As a Community Health Worker (CHW) in our Office of Community Outreach & Engagement (COE), you will be responsible for providing relevant and timely resources and information directly to community members to improve health behaviors targeted at preventing cancer, as well as provide resources for those diagnosed with cancer, family members, and other cancer caregivers as a liaison between the COE and the communities across our catchment area. This is a community-facing, professional position, ideal for candidates with experience or an interest in community health and developing a career as a professional CHW. Individuals in these roles are critical to forming relationships of trust between the Center, clinics, and the community and essential to addressing cancer-related health disparities in our communities. In your new role you will be responsible for the following:
This position reports to our Assistant Director of Clinical-Community Navigation as part of our larger Office of Community Outreach & Engagement. Selected candidates will be expected to achieve their CCHW certification within 6 months of hire, with training and support from the COE. Expected Salary: |
$25.00 – $28.00, hourly; Commensurate with education and experience. |
Minimum Requirements: |
High school diploma or equivalent and one year of relevant healthcare experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Valid Florida Driver's License. |
