Job Description:
The Role:
- Provide high quality dental treatment for children up to eighteen years of age, in accordance with the Scope of Practice for the relevant division of registration and consistent with OHST policies and guidelines.
- Provide dental services for eligible adults in accordance with the scope of practice outlined by the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (Dental Board of Australia) as prescribed by a Dental Officer.
- Provide health education and health promotion and preventative programs for patients, their families or carers, communities, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and the notification and management of all clinical incidents.
- Knowledge of current Dental Infection Prevention & Control standards and policies.
- Promote and practice the principles of supporting and enabling individuals and communities to increase control over their oral health and its determinants thereby improving their overall health, including but not restricted to, dental health education, health promotion and preventive programs in line with the Agency and OHST Oral Health Promotion Strategic Directions and Objectives.
- Adhere to other statutory requirements as outlined or directed by: Tasmanian Radiation Protection ACT (2005), Regulations (2016) and Licencing, Tasmanian Poisons ACT (1971) and Regulations (2018), Personal Information Protection (PIP) Act 2004, Medicare Compliance.

Details of Appointment:
Multiple positions X Permanent full time and part time, day worker working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
Multiple positions X fixed term full time and part time, day worker working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible until 29 December 2023.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant

Salary:
$ 67,867 to $ 102,493 pro rata per annum + 10.5% superannuation
- Salary range is in accordance with Interim Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Professional Development Allowance with the ability to accrue funds up to five years
- Post graduate qualification accelerated salary advancements where applicable and on application

Eligibility:
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:
- To apply for this position, you must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident, or be able to independently, legally live and work in Australia
- Registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Dental Board of Australia) – Applicants must have an approved tertiary degree (or equivalent) in Oral Health/Dental Therapy from a recognised tertiary institution including New Zealand
- Current Working with Children Registration
