Work Location:<\/strong><\/span> Christmas Creek - Fortescue\u2019s Christmas Creek mine is located on the traditional lands of the Nyiyaparli people. <\/span><\/p>\n

Roster:<\/strong><\/span> 8D\/6R FIFO ex. Perth <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

We are currently seeking a highly motivated Laboratory Coordinator to join the site-based Operations Planning team. This permanent position is offered on a family friendly 8\/6 dayshift only roster. With several works being completed at the Laboratory this year, your focus will be to enable the Laboratory team to complete high-quality sample analysis by coordinating operational and maintenance activities. You will lead by example, ensuring all works are completed safely in line with the Fortescue Values. <\/span><\/p>\n

Key responsibilities include: <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\n
• Adhere to Fortescue\u2019s vision and values <\/span><\/li>\n
• Build the operational foundation of the Laboratory by writing Safe Work Instructions that enable team members, not overwhelm them<\/li>\n
• Drive a strong team focus on safety, ensuring all hazards and field leaderships are uploaded into Fortescue\u2019s Business Management System <\/span><\/li>\n
• Coordinate all operational, maintenance (internal and external) and improvement activities, ensuring any risk to sample quality or turn-around-time is clearly communicated to the wide Operations Planning team<\/li>\n
• Accountable for Laboratory spending, working through deviations from forecast with the Superintendent Technical Services and highlighting risks to the next forecast<\/li>\n
• Mentor the team in best Laboratory Analysis practices, with a focus on the importance of eliminating sample bias and the effects of it on the Mine-to-Port supply chain<\/li>\n
• Mentor the Laboratory Supervisors in effective team leadership and management of personnel. This includes creating achievable development plans for team members <\/span><\/li>\n
• Review the Laboratory teams training matrix, ensuring the team is cross-skilled to maintain continuous operations when planned\/unplanned leave occurs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

  Qualifications and Experience: <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

  \n
  • 2-4 years\u2019 experience in Laboratories analysing Iron Ore samples, including both manual and automated processing<\/li>\n
  • Demonstrated experience leading a large team of laboratory supervisors and technicians<\/li>\n
  • Able to effectively communicate laboratory operations to non-technical teams<\/li>\n
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook and Excel <\/span><\/li>\n
  • Current Radiation Safety License from the WA Radiological Council <\/span><\/li>\n
  • Demonstrated experience with Panalytical XRF analysers and their SuperQ application <\/span><\/li>\n
  • Demonstrated experience in Prepmaster and ControlTrack Maintenance applications <\/span><\/li>\n
  • Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques (or equivalent) is desirable <\/span><\/li>\n
  • Previous experience with SAP systems is desirable <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
