Job Description:

Flow cytometry Staining and Analyzing

  • Lead and assist other scientists with the development, optimization, and validation of flow cytometry assays and panels.
  • Perform data analysis and troubleshoot technical issues relating to assay development and quality.
  • Prepare primary cells for surface & intracellular antibody staining.
  • Acquire data and perform analysis using BD Fortessa, BD AriaIII, and Cytek Aurora, BioRad S3e multicolor flow cytometers.
  • Perform QC and validation of the multicolor flow cytometers.

Data Analysis

  • Standardize and streamline validated protocols to increase efficiency
  • Data Maintenance and Quality Control

Training new technicians

  • Train new staff in the operations of flow cytometers and software packages associates with data analysis.
  • Act as a source of technical expertise for others.
  • Act as a team leader and assist in training others on SOPs and quality guidelines.
  • Select training/instructional methods and procedures appropriate for the situation when learning or teaching new things.

Expected Salary:

Starting salary is between $19.00 - $22.00 per hour

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in biology or a closely related life science field.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with genetics, immunology, and/or cell biology research techniques in a research or clinical laboratory

Demonstrated ability to think critically and cover a broad range of responsibilities;

Must be self-motivated and highly responsible, with the ability to execute technical tasks and projects with minimal supervision and work multiple projects simultaneously;

Strong written and verbal communications skills;

18 months of full-time laboratory experience.

Experience in biological sample processing, staining, and analysis via flow;

Flow cytometry experience with thorough understanding of life science applications of flow cytometry;

Knowledge of cell sorting / panel design & optimization;

Ability to determine root causes and develop solutions;

Desire to expand knowledge flow cytometric methods and learn to design flow cytometry experiments to support immunology programs.
