Job Description:

UF Information Technology (UFIT) is currently seeking an entry-level Audio-Visual Installer to join Academic Technology, Learning Spaces Support, a unit with in UFIT.

Employment with UFIT provides an excellent opportunity to work with other employees dedicated and focused on understanding and interpreting the technological needs of the University of Florida’s innovative and inspirational community.

The applicant will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Installing computers and audio-visual systems (A/V) in classrooms, conference rooms, and other areas in and around campus
  • Providing technical support for A/V installation projects
  • Maintaining A/V installation projects including equipment replacement and troubleshooting
  • Managing and organizing personal tools as well as stock items including but not limited to wire, cables, and various A/V and networking equipment
  • Operating a University of Florida motor vehicle
  • Provide high-level first and second tier support for A/V system throughout campus
  • Deployment, installation, integration, and testing of equipment
  • Developing project work plans through communication with client, end users, teammates, and supervisors

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday (7:00AM-4:00PM) occasional night and weekend work may be required.

Benefits

Full-time TEAMS employees will accrue vacation leave at a rate of 6.769 hours biweekly/22 days annually and sick leave at a rate of 4 hours biweekly/13 days annually. In addition, employees are eligible for ten paid holidays each year.

Vacation accruing TEAMS employees are eligible for four personal leave days/32 hours per year, assuming full-time status, and are intended to give the flexibility to enable units to close from December 26 to 31 when possible, determined on a unit-by-unit basis.

Expected Salary:

$19.16 per hour

Minimum Requirements:

Associate's degree; or a high school diploma or equivalent and two years of relevant experience.

Must have a valid FL driver's license.
