Counselor - Pediatrics General Division

Counselor<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

The Pediatrics Counselor will provide psychosocial assessments, preliminary diagnoses, and evidence based psychotherapeutic treatments, as well as case management support planning and consultation, for a wide range of mental health disorders in children and adolescents. Assist families in coping with their child\u2019s mental health challenges and in partnering with treatment team members, including medical providers in General Pediatrics.<\/p>\n

Duties to include:<\/p>\n

\n
• Providing direct, evidence based psychotherapy services and interventions to patients and families.<\/li>\n
• Documenting assessments, continuing treatments, and further treatment planning in the electronic medical record in a timely manner<\/li>\n
• Screening and assessing complex mental health needs of patients and their families, including identifying strengths and weaknesses, services, and financial constraint<\/li>\n
• Providing rapid response to emergency needs of complex patients and families using evidence based interventions to stabilize and resolve crisis situations<\/li>\n
• Providing assistance with the development of linkages with providers and community services that will enable patients and families to achieve optimal outcomes<\/li>\n
• Participating in weekly administrative staffing meetings to review new patients, patients in treatment, and treatment planning and coordination<\/li>\n
• Assure referrals to access community resources and support toward optimal outcomes are made in a timely manner and will follow-up on such referrals<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

  Normal work hours are Monday though Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm; however, the hours may be flexible depending upon the requirements of the position. This job may require occasional overtime to meet programmatic needs.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

$39,000-$59,000; commensurate within this range based on qualifications and experience<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Professionals with one of the following credentials are qualified to provide psychosocial counseling:<\/p>\n

\n
• Social worker with a master\u2019s degree or a Ph.D. in social work from a Certified Social Work Education-accredited school of social work.<\/li>\n
• Registered nurse with advanced specialized counseling education and training as a clinical nurse specialist or certified psychiatric nurse.<\/li>\n
• Professional licensed to provide clinical, counseling, and psychotherapy services by the Florida Department of Health, Division of Medical Quality Assurance.<\/li>\n
• Counselor with a master\u2019s degree in counseling.<\/li>\n
• Psychologist with a master\u2019s or Ph.D. in psychology.<\/li>\n
• Master\u2019s or doctoral level graduate student intern from an accredited school of social work or a psychology or counseling program, under the supervision of a licensed practitioner qualified to supervise such interns.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

\n
• LCSW with active State of Florida license<\/li>\n
• LMHC with active State of Florida license<\/li>\n
• 2-3 years full time clinical counseling experience <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
