The University of Florida Veterinary Hospitals are comprised of Large Animal, Small Animal, and Diagnostic Laboratory services as well as both on site and satellite Emergency facilities.   Available Shifts<\/strong><\/p>\n

  • Friday-Sunday and Saturday-Monday, both day time and night shifts available. May require working alternate shifts, holidays, and weekends. This position is considered essential personnel and is part of the Emergency Response Team.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

$20.00- $34.00 per hour; Competitive salary based on credentialing and experience<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Emergency & Critical Care Veterinary Technician I<\/u>: High school diploma or equivalent and one year of relevant experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational\/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.<\/p>\n

Emergency & Critical Care Veterinary Technician II:<\/u> Credentialed veterinary technician.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

\n
• Prefer applicants with 3-5 years of experience in emergency and\/or critical care medicine.<\/li>\n
• Graduation from an accredited veterinary technology program and\/or certified veterinary technician or eligible to sit for the VTNE.<\/li>\n
• Knowledge of animal care and nursing, especially critical care.<\/li>\n
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and terminology.<\/li>\n
• Knowledge of the equipment and materials used and their availability and applications.<\/li>\n
• Ability to effectively maintain a working environment while in stressful situations.<\/li>\n
• Ability to effectively communicate with employees of various levels and responsibilities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
