SSE Enterprise Contracting is one of the UK's leading Lighting Services contractors delivering a service ranging from new installations to removing and replacing existing stock. To continue meeting all contractual obligations and to ensure all agreed works are undertaken and completed on time, we are looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking individual to join our team.

What is the Role?

To be successful in this role, you should be able to work as part of a team and individually. You should have excellent communication and organisational skills; good knowledge of the local road network and layout would be advantageous.

The role involves working on Street Lighting and other highway apparatus, you will work outdoors and at height and have responsibility for operating a mobile elevated working platform.

You will be responsible for the installation and maintenance of highway lighting apparatus including street lighting furniture, Columns, sign post, brackets, lantern & signs.

You will also undertake fault diagnosis and repair of faulty lighting columns, lantern replacement, Lamp Clean and Change, Painting, and periodic testing.

What do I need?

You'll have good experience working on the highway in the electrical industry.

You'll have completed your Electrical Apprenticeship and will have achieved an NVQ Level 3 (or approved equivalent) in installation and/or servicing/maintenance work or will have obtained a pass in the City and Guilds 2360 Parts 1 and 2 or 2351 or 2330 levels 2 and 3 (or approved equivalent).

You'll be qualified to Assessment and Measurement 2 (AM2) and have a good working knowledge of the 18th Edition: 2008 Wiring Regulations. City and Guilds 2391 or equivalent is essential, as would be IPAF / PASMA and G39.

In addition, you'll have a thorough working knowledge of Industry Codes of Practice, relevant British Standards and Construction Industry Safety Regulations and have obtained Achievement Measurement 2. A full working knowledge of electrical safe systems of work is critical to deliver a safe working environment where you'll be responsible for a delivering a permit to work system.

It is an essential requirement for this role that you have a full, current driving licence. An HGV licence would also be desirable.
