Job Description:

Applications are invited from trainees undertaking advanced training towards FRACP fellowship who would like to develop further sub-specialty skills and/or obtain fellowship in Pain Medicine.

We like to work with individual Advanced Trainees to customise their program to meet their personal training needs – examples have been an emphasis on outpatient exposure under supervision, time for procedural exposure, teaching and part time work.

$91,442 - $129,391 per annum


Medical Practitioner Level 5-11 (Registrar)


Medical Practitioners (Public Sector) Award

Period of Employment

Fixed term, full time day work, 80 hours per fortnight, commencing 01 February 2021 until 31 January 2022


Royal Hobart Hospital


The Registrar is responsible for the day to day management of private and public inpatients and outpatients within the Hospital and provides after-hours emergency cover at the hospital as determined by the Medical Workforce Unit.

Essential Requirements

  • General or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
  • Current Tasmanian Working with Children Registration (where applicable and as determined by individual position requirements).

The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:

1. Conviction checks in the following areas:

a) Crimes of Violence

b) Sex Related Offences

c) Serious Drug Offences

d) Crimes involving dishonesty

2. Identification check

3. Disciplinary action in previous employment check.
