Job Description:
The Role:
The Ward Support Assistant will provide and maintain a high standard of customer focused clerical, administrative and reception services in the Rehabilitation Services Unit at the Mersey Community Hospital.
The role will provide effective and efficient non-nursing care to patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This includes:
- Maintaining basic ward equipment and adequate stores
- Facilitating the control of infection by maintaining clean and hygienic surroundings
Previous experience with the THS booking and scheduling system and good IT skills will be considered highly desirable.

The Unit:
The Rehabilitation Services Unit at the Mersey Community Hospital is a 12 bed sub-acute Unit that assists with the Rehabilitation care of patients in the North West. It is a collaborative approach that include a team of Allied Health professionals, a Rehabilitation Specialist and Nursing staff. The Rehabilitation Services Unit provides goal focussed admissions to assist patients to return to optimal health that allows them to return to daily functioning, work and independent living. Patients typically participate in a Rehabilitation timetable on the Ward, wear day clothes and enjoy meals together in the dining room as part of their rehabilitation.
Details of Appointment
Fixed Term, part time, day worker position working 64 hours per fortnight, commencing from March 2023 until September 2023

- Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.
Base Salary: $62,257 - $66,917 per annum (pro rata) + 10.5% superannuation + access to salary packaging
- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022
