Solomon
- Fortescue’s Solomon mine is located on the traditional lands of the Eastern Guruma and Yindjibarndi peoples.
Roster: 4D/3R – FIFO ex Perth
This position is within the OPF Engineering Department of our Ore Processing Plant Facility. The role leads a team of mechanical engineers and reports to the Superintendent of Engineering and Reliability.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing technical support to our Operational Projects teams execution capital works including scoping, design review & technical queries;
- Support to our existing Operations by investigating equipment failures, support during breakdown events & shutdowns, providing direction & technical guidance to site stakeholders and coaching and mentoring of engineers;
- Providing sound Engineering Standards to ensure our people are safe and our assets are reliable and efficient;
- Providing safety leadership to effectively identify and manage technical risks across Fortescue;
- Achieving targets set for defined sections of area budgets
Qualification and Experience:
- Tertiary Qualification in Mechanical Engineering
- 10+ years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer that includes experience in the Mining Industry
- Mining experience in hard rock applications
- Prior experience with vibrating screens, centrifugal slurry pumps, conveyors and chutes.
- Knowledge of relevant mines legislations and regulations
- Knowledge of computer management systems, including SAP
