Job Description:
The role:
Under the general supervision of the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM), Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) or the Department Manager, the Hospital Aide will:
- Assist in maintaining a safe and clean environment and adequate stock supply (excluding drugs) to enable clinical staff to deliver a high standard of care to patients in specialty areas.
- Decontaminate, sterilise and maintain specialised equipment.

The area:
The Emergency Department (ED) provides a tertiary level service for people with illness or injury 24 hours a day 7 days per week. The ED treats approximately 70,000 people per year.
It is a fast-paced and energetic environment and there are opportunities for staff to be involved in a variety of projects.
The RHH Emergency Department has a co-located Emergency Medical Unit (EMU) which is a short stay ward for patients requiring a brief hospital stay (generally less than 24 hours). The EMU operates 24 hours a day 7 days a week and is a high turnover ward environment with a variety of clinical presentations.
Details of Appointment
Permanent, part time, shift-worker position, working 44 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

- Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.
Salary: $58,899 to $61,381 pro rata per annum + 10.5% superannuation + access to salary packaging
You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
- Salary range is in accordance with the Health and Human Services (Tasmanian State Service) Award
