The University of Florida (UF) College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) announces a search for an Assistant Dean of Small Animal Hospitals (ADSAH). The Assistant Dean position will be a 1.0 FTE with 75-80% administrative duties and 20-25% academic assignments (teaching, research, service). The ADSAH provides leadership, administers oversight of the medical care of patients, and guides the Small Animal Hospitals (SAH) in the strategic and operational aspects of clinical services. The ADSAH oversees the functions Ftemperformed by clinicians (faculty and house officers) in the provision of veterinary care in the UFVH (Small Animal Hospital – Gainesville, UF Pet Emergency and Treatment Services (UFPETS) – Ocala, and Small Animal Hospital at the World Equestrian Center (SAH WEC) – Ocala) consistent with the mission of the college and university. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities/Selection Criteria
The successful candidate will have an academic appointment as an Associate Professor or Professor (Clinical or Tenure Track as appropriate). The incumbent in this position will report to the department chair for their faculty assignment and the Associate Dean for Clinical Services – Small Animal (ADCS-SA) for the Assistant Dean assignment. The ADCS-SA will complete the annual evaluation on the performance of the administrative duties with input from the department chair on their faculty assignment. |

Rank and salary will be commensurate with the applicant’s qualifications and experience. |
Minimum Requirements: |
DVM, VMD, or equivalent foreign veterinary degree plus at least six years of clinical experience and three years of leadership experience. |
Preferred Qualifications: |
Experience managing veterinary hospital operations in an academic/private setting. Demonstrated leadership potential and ability to supervise professional employees effectively. |
