This AI Training and Support Specialist serves as an intermediate-level position in Research Computing, a unit within UF Information Technology (UFIT), and will support the university’s success through service and operational excellence. The training and support specialist will be responsible for assisting in the development of AI training curricular materials, producing asynchronous training modules, and delivering synchronous training (primarily online). Additionally, this position will provide general systems administration services and coding consultation on AI-related projects in pursuit of advanced scientific, engineering, and scholarly research. This work will continue to build Research Computing’s AI training capacity, generating innovative and engaging content for diverse audiences and create open, accessible content for learners around the world. The University of Florida Research Computing, home of HiPerGator and HiPerGator-AI supercomputers, facilitates large-scale computation and data management for cutting-edge research in a wide variety of research domains at a top-5 public university. In support of UF’s AI Initiative, Research Computing develops and provides comprehensive, hands-on applied AI training for researchers from diverse backgrounds. Full-time TEAMS employees will accrue vacation leave at a rate of 6.769 hours biweekly/22 days annually and sick leave at a rate of 4 hours biweekly/13 days annually. In addition, employees are eligible for ten paid holidays each year. Vacation accruing TEAMS employees are eligible for four personal leave days/32 hours per year, assuming full-time status, and are intended to give the flexibility to enable units to close from December 26 to 31 when possible, determined on a unit-by-unit basis. Expected Salary: |
$60,000 – $70,000; commensurate based on education and experience. |
Minimum Requirements: |
Associate’s degree and two years of relevant experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and four years of relevant experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience. Level 2 background check required. |
