Job Description:
The Role:
- The Enrolled Nurse provides direct patient centred nursing care to assigned patients in accordance with the nursing care plan under the direction and supervision of the registered nurse.

The Ward
- The Medical Ward at North West Regional Hospital consists of a 27 bed General Medical Ward, a 15-bed isolation/ General medicine unit and an 8 bed Acute Medical Unit all providing services to the North West Tasmania. The General Medical Ward case mix of patients may include sepsis, acute strokes, Renal, Respiratory, Cardiac, delirium and end of life care patients. The Isolation area provides care for various transmission-based infections including COVID 19. The AMU provides care to short stay Medical patients with Length of stays 48-72hrs having rapid reviews, assessments, and planning. Several staff hold post graduate qualifications in Acute care and many opportunities are provided for ongoing professional development. Staff will have the opportunity to be rotated through all areas of the Medical Unit.
Details of Appointment
Permanent, part time, shift work, position working 64 hours per fortnight, commencing ASAP

- Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.
Salary: $66,811- $69,835 per annum + 10.5% superannuation + access to salary packaging
- Salary range is in accordance with the Nurse and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2019
Eligibility:
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:
- Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as an Enrolled Nurse (holds a Board-approved qualification in administration of medicines)
The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:
- Conviction checks in the following areas:
- crimes of violence
- sex related offences
- serious drug offences
- crimes involving dishonesty
- Identification check
- Disciplinary action in previous employment check.
