Job Description:
The role:
-
Manage, plan and coordinate a comprehensive emergency management program ensuring compliance with legislation, industry best practice, strategic objectives and accreditation relating to emergency management.

Provide technical advice to internal stakeholders and senior management on a broad range of issues in relation to emergency management, fire prevention, fire detection and the Emergency Warning Intercommunications Systems.

Provides emergency management education to staff and contractors for nominated sites.

The position will be located in the North West region based at either the North West Regional Hospital or Mersey Community Hospital subject to negotiation.
- You will be a key player in a diverse and dynamic team, planning and coordinating emergency and fire related activities
- Some intrastate travel may be required
Details of Appointment
Permanent, full time, day worker position working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant
- Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.
Salary: $92,615 to $97,152 per annum + 10.5% superannuation + access to salary packaging
- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2019
Eligibility:
Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:
- Emergency Management experience and knowledge, preferably in a Health Care setting
The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:
- Conviction checks in the following areas:
- Crimes of violence
- sex related offences
- serious drug offences
- crimes involving dishonesty
- Identification check
- Disciplinary action in previous employment check.
