Job Description:
The role:
- Deliver evidenced based care in accordance with the nursing care plan under the direction and supervision of the registered nurse/midwife.
- Contribute to the development of patient/client nursing care plans, the evaluation of care and healthcare information in collaboration with the registered nurse/midwife.
- Participate in decision making with the multidisciplinary team to achieve planned patient outcomes.
- Assist in the collection of comprehensive clinical data from the patient/client and/or family.

The Mental Health Inpatient Unit (MHIU) and broader Mental Health Department (MHD) is a dynamic, multidisciplinary, and patient focused workplace, with a supportive and collaborative team, and we are looking to add to our nursing crew. Our Enrolled Nurses are an integral and valued component of our team, who play a vital role in the planning and implementing of patient care.
Details of Appointment
Permanent, full time, shift-worker (fully rotational) position working 76 hours per fortnight commencing as soon as possible.

Salary:
$64,991 to $69,835 per annum + 10.5% superannuation
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
• Post Graduate Allowance of up to 2% based on qualification type
• Professional Development Allowance of up to $750 per annum
- Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service Agreement) 2019
Eligibility:
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:
- Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as an Enrolled Nurse (holds a Board-approved qualification in administration of medicines)
The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:
- Conviction checks in the following areas:
- Crimes of violence
- sex related offences
- serious drug offences
- crimes involving dishonesty
- Identification check
- Disciplinary action in previous employment check.
