Job Description:
The role:

As a member of the Trauma Service, the Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) - Trauma Service supports the continuity of care and patient flow and minimises stress for patients and their families through improving patient outcomes, staff satisfaction, patient safety and an overall reduction in length of stay. In doing so, the CNS - Trauma Service:
- Leads case management, including complex patients/clients, in the clinical management and ongoing coordination of nursing team activities to achieve continuity and quality of patient/client care in conjunction with other members of the health care team.
- Acts as a clinical expert and educational resource for nursing, medical and allied health staff involved in the management of patients with complex care needs.
- Develops and maintains collaborative links between nursing, medical and allied health staff and the Trauma Service and acts as a bridge between the skills and resources of the Trauma Service, Emergency Surgery Unit and the ward environment.
- Identifies quality improvement or research activities using a hospital-wide approach and implements appropriate strategies to improve practice.

The Team:
The Trauma Service is a multidisciplinary team that provides evidence-based care for injured Tasmanians informed by the Tasmanian trauma registry and contemporary research practice. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an innovative and dynamic team creating change for injured Tasmanians.
Details of Appointment
Permanent part time shift-worker position working 64 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

- Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.
Salary: $96,967 - $102,473 pro-rata per annum + 10.5% superannuation
- Post Graduate Allowance of up to 7.5% based on qualification type
- Professional Development Allowance of up to $500 per annum
- Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service Agreement) 2019

Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse
*Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment. It is the employee’s responsibility to ensure that registration/licences remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change. This includes notifying the Employer if a registration/licence is revoked, cancelled or has its conditions altered.

5 year’s minimum experience as a senior clinician
