Job Description:
The role:
- Contribute to local trauma service establishment, development, and delivery at the Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH) under the Nurse Manager – Trauma Service, including both clinical service delivery and trauma quality improvement projects
- The CNC – Trauma functions as a liaison for trauma care by maintaining effective lines of communication to the Nurse Manager and Director of Trauma
- Lead trauma case management across the acute phases of care for major trauma patients admitted to the RHH including facilitating multidisciplinary care across departments, wards, specialities, and sectors from presentation to discharge.
- Surveillance and notification of high-risk cases and system issues to the Nurse Manager – Trauma Service and Director of Trauma.

The Team:
The Trauma Service is a multidisciplinary team that provides evidence-based care for injured Tasmanians informed by the Tasmanian trauma registry and contemporary research practice. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an innovative and dynamic team creating change for injured Tasmanians.
Details of Appointment
Permanent full time, day worker position working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

- Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.
Salary: 104,735 - 111,334 per annum + 10.5% superannuation
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Post Graduate Allowance of up to 7.5% based on qualification type
- Professional Development Allowance of up to $500 per annum
- Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service Agreement) 2019
Eligibility:
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse
*Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment. It is the employee’s responsibility to ensure that registration/licences remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change. This includes notifying the Employer if a registration/licence is revoked, cancelled or has its conditions altered.
Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Registered Nurse with trauma experience

Holds relevant post graduate qualifications aligned with trauma nursing
