Green Energy Hub Superintendent
Work Location: Christmas Creek. Fortescue’s Christmas Creek mine is located on the traditional lands of the Nyiyaparli people.
Roster: 4D/3R – FIFO ex Perth
This position is responsible to lead the Green Energy Hub team to safely operate and maintain the hydrogen gas plant, hydrogen liquid plant and Heavy Equipment battery charger. These are flagship facilities currently under construction. They have high visibility within the FMG business and industry.
This position will actively champion business improvement initiatives to optimise the Green Energy Hub activities, create efficiencies for execution, stabilize reliable gas production and promote a high safety standard.
The Green energy Hub Superintendent will work collaboratively with FFI to support R&D activities focused on responding to customer needs. The role will be highly visible and support VIP visits to the facility.
Key Accountabilities for the role:
- High safety focus and risk perception at all times
- Lead planned and breakdown maintenance across the Green Energy Hub
- Use of change management for any proposed plant changes
- Demand management of hydrogen production to support customer requirements
- Use of SAP to create notifications, close out work orders and time confirmations
- Actively participate in daily, toolbox and safety meetings
- Comply with company procedures, policies and lifesaving choices at all times
- Conduct thorough risk assessments prior to undertaking tasks
- Report all hazards and incidents within the workplace
- Coach, mentor and develop apprentices to become high quality tradespeople
Qualifications and Experience:
- Relevant experience in hydrogen gas production, mining or related heavy industry
- Experience with operations / maintenance of high-pressure gas plants within hazardous areas
- Refuelling of medium and heavy equipment
- Strong understanding of control systems, plc’s and instrumentation
- Knowledge of applicable legislations, Australian Standards and International standards.
- Effective communication & interpersonal skills; including report writing.
- Ability to time manage, organise & prioritise workload
- Competent in reading technical manuals/plans/schematics
- Sound problem solving skills
