Perform screening mammography, and diagnostic assessment imaging of screen detected abnormalities as required at BreastScreen Tasmania’s site locations.
The Role:
- Perform complex screening mammography procedures, using digital equipment, exercising professional judgment within the screening and assessment environment.
- Take a leading role in the supervision and training of less experienced staff performing duties with the BreastScreen Australia program, ensuring that professional standards are maintained.
- Assist in the design, review and updating of protocols and procedures for work practices within the BreastScreen accreditation and quality assurance framework, ensuring compliance with work practices, and supporting the concept of continuous quality improvement.
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of new techniques and advances in mammography and breast imaging and lead projects as assigned by the Chief Radiographer.

Position Features:
- The incumbent is required to wear lead aprons, as appropriate
- Intrastate travel may be required
Details of Appointment:
Permanent, full time, day work, position working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant

Location:
Hobart, Tasmania
Base Salary: $96,689 to $114,391 per annum + 10.5% superannuation
- Please note that access to salaries beyond $105,245 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme
- Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2019
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Professional Development Allowance of up to $724 per annum for the ability to accrue fund up to five years
- Post graduate qualification salary advancement where applicable
Eligibility:
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:
- Registered with the Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia.

- Current Driver’s Licence
