Job Description:
The role:
- Within an Agency framework and in accordance with Agency policy and procedures, the Nurse Practitioner is responsible, within the defined scope of practice, for high level clinical leadership in the development, provision, and evaluation of the general medicine service that ensures optimal patient/ client/family and community outcomes.
- The NP draws upon their professional competencies to improve clinical service outcomes through effective research and quality improvement activities, and actively participates statewide and nationally, in acute, sub-acute and community research, publication and education.
- The NP is responsible as leader, advisor and mentor for the other nurses and clinicians to ensure high level clinical excellence in General Medicine across Acute Medical Services.

The team:
The Nurse Practitioner role will work within the General Medicine team with supervision from the Cardiology team to predominately support management of heart failure patients.
Details of Appointment
Fixed Term, full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for approximately 12 months.

- Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.
Salary: $132,215 per annum + 10.5% superannuation + access to salary packaging
You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Post Graduate Allowance of up to 7.5% based on qualification type
- Professional Development Allowance of up to $500 per annum
- Salary range is in accordance with the Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service Agreement) 2019
Eligibility:
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:
- Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and endorsed to practice as a Nurse Practitioner
