Salary Broadbanded Level 7/8: A$96K- A$121K per year, plus 17% employer superannuation plus leave loading. This is a full-time (35 hours per week), continuing position.

The Australian National Fabrication Facility Ltd (ANFF) was established in 2006/07 under the National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS) Fabrication Capability. With eight Nodes located around Australia. The NSW Node of ANFF (ANFF-NSW), within the School of Electrical Engineering, provides Australian researchers from both the public and private sectors with access to specialised nano- and micro-fabrication equipment and services.

To date ANFF-NSW has been awarded more than $36M in funding from the Commonwealth and NSW State governments along with co-investment from UNSW. Much of this funding has been directed towards the construction of cleanroom laboratories and procurement of advanced fabrication tools. Key tools include three electron beam lithography (EBL) systems, a wide range of optical lithography, deposition and etching tools and a suite of high temperature furnaces.

The Technical Officer will assist the ANFF-NSW Laboratory Manager in maintaining the safe and successful operation of the ANFF-NSW laboratories. The Senior Technical Officer will be responsible for completing maintenance and repair work on process tools and laboratory plant for micro/nanofabrication of electronic, MEMs, optical and quantum computing devices; ensuring that the hazardous gas storage and delivery system is maintained in good order; and assisting in the planning for and installation of new process tools.
