The Role and the Team:

Reporting to the Manager - Occupational Therapy Services, this is a senior position providing Occupational Therapy services to In-patient services including medical, surgical, orthopaedics and paediatrics; and community clients from a broad, rural area. You will plan, implement, and evaluate occupational therapy services for clients; and provide clinical expertise and best practice assessment and therapeutic interventions in accordance with organisational policies and relevant professional codes of conduct.

You will be required to work across both the North West Regional Hospital and the Mersey Community Hospital in North West Tasmania; as an effective member of a multidisciplinary team of 21 members consisting of the Manager, Deputy Manager, Senior and Junior Occupational Therapists and other ancillary staff.

The North West Regional Hospital, Burnie is a 160-bed facility providing general medicine, surgical (including orthopaedic), intensive care, cancer services, paediatric services, outpatient clinics and specialist services.

The Mersey Community Hospital, Latrobe has 95 beds offers general and specialist health services including elective surgery, 24-hour emergency department, general medicine day surgery and endoscopy, rehabilitation, palliative care and oncology services along with a variety of specialist clinics.

Details of Appointment

Fixed Term full time, day worker position working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from January 2023 until January 2024

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

Base Salary: $96,689 - $114,391 per annum

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

  1. Registered with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia
  2. Current Working with Children Registration

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

  1. Current Driver’s Licence
  2. Post graduate qualifications relevant to the delivery of Occupational Therapy Services
