You will help deliver useful, user-centered web experiences for our students, faculty, staff, applicants, and alumni through ONE.UF, a responsive web portal providing access to a variety of self-service functions (https://one.uf.edu/about/oneuf). You will have the opportunity to:

  • Work with an agile development team focused on reshaping the way our constituents interact with the university
  • Advocate for the user within the organization and promote a user-centered design culture
  • Work with clients and users to understand requirements and design user experiences that meet business goals and user needs
  • Plan and conduct user research and create personas
  • Translate concepts into user flows, wireframes, mockups and prototypes that clearly illustrate how sites function and look, optimized for a range of devices and interfaces
  • Communicate design ideas and deliver design artifacts such as style guides and prototypes to business process owners and developers
  • Conduct usability testing and gather feedback on new and existing products from students, faculty, staff, prospective students and alumni
  • Establish methods for collecting usage and feedback data and implement strategies for measuring and quantifying user experience
  • Interpret quantitative data and qualitative feedback to incorporate into designs
  • Continually learn and grow, explore trends and share knowledge with the team
  • Work in a hybrid workplace

Benefits

Full-time TEAMS employees will accrue vacation leave at a rate of 6.769 hours biweekly/22 days annually and sick leave at a rate of 4 hours biweekly/13 days annually. In addition, employees are eligible for ten paid holidays each year.

Vacation accruing TEAMS employees are eligible for four personal leave days/32 hours per year, assuming full-time status, and are intended to give the flexibility to enable units to close from December 26 to 31 when possible, determined on a unit-by-unit basis.

Expected Salary:

$80,500 – $90,000; commensurate based on education and experience. In addition, the University of Florida offers a very competitive benefits package. https://benefits.hr.ufl.edu/

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and six years of experience.

Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience but does not negate the minimum degree requirement(s).

Preferred Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess the following education, experience, and skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a design-related field and at least three years working in a user experience design role or similar position.
  • Proven experience in following UX design best practices to design solutions, including a portfolio of sample projects highlighting design for web-based applications, mobile applications, and/or websites.
  • Familiarity with interaction design, information architecture, user research, usability testing, A/B testing, prototyping, heuristic analysis, and accessibility.
  • Ability to effectively communicate design processes, ideas, and solutions to teams and clients.
  • Thrive in a collaborative environment and be flexible to adapt within an agile development team and dynamic organization.
