Job Description:

Program Delivery
Teaches educational programs to adult and youth audiences with a focus on nutrition and healthy lifestyles. Partners with community organizations in the county such as schools, health departments or other agencies to provide programs. Uses proven, research-based teaching methods to instruct clientele. Collects demographic data on clients served. Evaluates knowledge gained and behavioral changes through approved evaluation tools.

Planning & Program Support
Assists FCS Agent with correspondence, marketing, registration, and evaluation tools to be used with educational programs. Provides administrative support by responding to clientele email, telephone calls, and walk-in inquiries regarding FCS topics. Models and promotes excellent customer service to all internal and external constituents. Assists in helping with collaborative/office-wide events and programs as well as 4-H youth programs when needed.

Training & Travel
Develops and improves knowledge of subject matter, becomes more proficient in determining client needs, understands various methods of reaching and teaching the clientele, and develops proficiency in educational curricula. Expands professional knowledge through attending trainings, obtaining certifications, and other professional development opportunities. Travels to assigned teaching sites by means of a personal vehicle or county vehicle. Occasional out-of-county travel may be required.

Reporting
Maintains accurate demographic and evaluation records and reports. Submits reports on time to County Extension Director.

Expected Salary:

$15.80 per hour

Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Valid Driver's License

Preferred Qualifications:

3-5 years nutrition education experience
Experience working with diverse youth and adult audiences
Experience teaching yoga, mindfulness, and other physical activities
Self-Directed
Excellent organizational skills
