Job Description:

The Department of Physics seeks a Post Doctoral Associate in Condensed Matter Theory to work on research led by Dr. Hirschfeld. The Post Doctoral Associate will conduct experimentally-motivated theoretical and numerical studies directed toward the understanding of emerging superconducting and strongly correlated systems, and the effect of various irregularities and inhomogeneities in their properties.

Expected Salary:

The salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, and includes a full benefits package.

Minimum Requirements:

Ph.D. in Physics.

Preferred Qualifications:

Ph.D. in theoretical condensed matter physics

Desired qualifications:

  1. Experience in low dimensional condensed matter systems, exact analytical solutions, numerical methods such as exact diagonalizations and Bogoliubov-de-Gennes methods for superconductors.
  2. A few years experience in high-performance computing environment, and substantial background in programming & simulation.
  3. Experience with newly emerging topological superconducting systems is preferred. Some background in quantum computation and/or machine learning is welcome.
  4. Additional interdisciplinary interests/research experience in related domains of physics are welcome.
