Job Description:

The Role:

In consultation with the Orthotic Prosthetic Services Tasmania State Clinical Manager and Clinical Leads, the Senior Orthotist/Prosthetist:
• Provides leadership to the orthotic and/or prosthetic clinical teams within the service.
• Coordinates the provision of an efficient and effective orthotic and/or prosthetic service, which includes facilitating consumer perspectives in service design, and providing support and training for clinical, technical and administrative teams.
• Provides client-centered, evidence-based orthotic and prosthetic services for clients, involving effective collaboration with peer services, interdisciplinary teams and referrers.

The Area:

This is a fantastic opportunity for you to work with highly experienced clinicians and technicians while further developing your existing clinical skills and knowledge. A part of this dynamic role will be to provide a diverse range of orthotic and prosthetic solutions for patients of all ages and disability types, in a combination of acute, rehabilitative and outpatient settings. You can also expect to work in a collaborative way with other Allied Health Professionals to deliver a multi-disciplinary approach to solving complex issues for patients and their families.

This position has a leadership component to it, and you can expect that you will have the opportunity to share your clinical knowledge and skills with new graduates, and represent orthotics and prosthetics within the hospital and community settings.

Northern Tasmania is well known for easy access to some of the most pristine wilderness trails in the state, and has a variety of adventure activities within easy access of our regional towns. There is a thriving local arts community, as well as quality restaurants, wineries and markets in historically significant locations to explore.

Details of Appointment

Permanent, full time, day work position working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant

Salary: $96,689- $114,391 per annum + 10.5% superannuation + access to salary packaging

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

Please note that access to salaries beyond $105,245 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme.

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

  1. Tertiary qualifications in Orthotics and Prosthetics, and evidence of membership of the Australian Orthotic Prosthetic Association
  2. Current Registration to Work with Vulnerable People

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

  1. Current Driver’s Licence
  2. Post-graduate qualifications relevant to the requirements of the position
