This position will provide technical and system design for end IT user support for workstation, laptop, network, and other end user devices and technologies for the Pediatrics Department and contracted programs. Responsibilities also include working independently and providing helpdesk staffing solutions. Occasional travel may be required. Will be supervised by the IT Manager.

The Department of Pediatrics is seeking candidates for a IT Support Supervisor position. This position is responsible for providing technical and system design for end IT user support for workstation, laptop, network, and other end user devices and technologies for the Pediatrics Department and contracted programs. Responsible for providing daily instruction to an IT team. Expected to work independently and provide helpdesk staffing solutions. Occasional travel may be required.

Duties to include:

Evaluates equipment, components, and software for new solutions to complex information systems. Leads in the selection, installation and maintenance standards on software/hardware applications and network systems. Interfaces with vendors to resolve hardware and software problems. Manages the development of plans, schedules and requirements for the deployment and lifecycles of systems. Interfaces with University organizations to resolve service-related issues. Leads and provides oversight for development projects of moderate to large scale. Maintains familiarity with software standards and procedures. Plans for implementation of, and ensures compliance with University, college and/or departmental security and configuration policies. Designs, plans, installs, debugs, and troubleshoots operations support and automation systems, systems software, hardware applications and support products. Installs, evaluates, and applies software and application updates, ensures back-up and recovery capabilities. Develops strategies for implementing multimedia technology across a range of programs and initiatives. Provides consultation to faculty and staff in the design and structure of multimedia solutions for active and collaborative, computer-mediated, and distributed learning.

Monitors and reviews installed software on the department computers to make sure we are following licensing and security best practices. As the IPAM Administrator register all devices for the Pediatrics Department and contracted programs. Maintain departmental images for Windows and MacOS. Lead project administrator for department workstation, user projects, and moves. Monitors and reviews user workstation and mobile equipment to make sure our monitoring software and services are running and reporting accurately. Develop standardized helpdesk documentation for workstation support staff and users..

Meet with desktop support team on best practices for all past and present helpdesk tickets. Work with vendors to determine appropriate workstation setup, hardware, and software issues. Primary administrator for System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), JAMF, ASM, Trendmicro, security patch management for Adobe Flash, Reader, Java, etc.

Pediatrics Liaison for UF IT Security Risk Assessments. Lead point of contact for our department users for purchases and setups that require a UF IT Security Risk Assessment.

On-call. Part of the On-call team for after-hours work stoppages for department users.

Expected Salary:

$59,500 - $62,000 annually; commensurate within this range based on qualifications and experience.

Minimum Requirements:

A bachelor’s degree; or associate’s degree and two years of appropriate experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and four years of experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Proficient with SCCM console and management tools
- Proficient with JAMF Pro management tools
- In-depth knowledge of MacOS and Windows operating systems
- Active Directory
- Powershell
- Previous supervision experience
- Ability to work independently, plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
