Located in sparkling new paediatric facilities at the Launceston General Hospital, this position manages a diverse inpatient and outpatient child & adolescent caseload. Working closely in a fun and supportive multi-disciplinary team, the successful applicant will also participate in paediatric service development and provide professional support to play therapy assistants, allied health assistants and undergraduate students.

The Role and the Team:

The Occupational Therapy department in Launceston is ready to welcome you to its team. The department has a comprehensive induction program, ongoing professional support and supervision, weekly in-services, a funding allowance for continuing professional development, a variety of research interests and great working relationships with other Allied Health professions. There are over 30 OTs working across 3 key service streams of acute, sub-acute and community, including 2 other paediatric OTs, and there is a place for you in our team to grow, develop and belong.

What’s on Offer?

Details of Appointment

Multiple Permanent, part time, day work, positions working 38 hours per fortnight

Salary: $96,689 - $114,391 per annum (pro rata) + 10.5% superannuation + access to salary packaging


Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

  1. Registered with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia

  2. Current Working with Children Registration

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

  1. Current Driver’s Licence
  2. Holds, or progressing towards, a relevant postgraduate qualification

The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:

  1. Conviction checks in the following areas:
    1. crimes of violence
    2. sex related offences
    3. serious drug offences
