Job Description:

Mentem by UNSW is a new business founded by the University of New South Wales - we bring together the cutting-edge of adult learning, university subject-matter expertise, and digital product technology to solve the future-of-work challenges facing organisations and individuals. You can find out more about us at https://mentem.co or follow us on LinkedIn.

This role is central in ensuring Mentem’s product technology suite can continue to develop, scale and grow.

Our pilot solution involves a proprietary data-driven web platform - built on a cutting-edge technology stack and open standards as the foundation which integrates with a range of commercial systems and data sources.

In the next 18 months our engineering team will develop and iterate on the functionality and feature-set of the pilot solution while researching, prototyping and integrating new tools, components and applications to add to our product suite for both in-house development teams and endusers in stakeholder and learner roles.

As a full-stack engineer at Mentem, you will have the opportunity to not only upskill in data engineering and API/UI development, but to go beyond the code and help shape and evolve the product and business.

We will look to you to be a strong individual contributor, and help evolve the team’s engineering practices and the product itself.

- Contribute to the Mentem technological architecture, factoring in a range of Mentem-developed applications, best-in-class third-party tooling, and clients' own systems

- Contribute to technology strategy related to coding practices, continuous integration and automated deployment (our CI/CD pipelines help us release daily)

- Are hands on and engage in coding to help the team develop solutions, helping solve and surface problems at hand, and identifying and removing technical impediments

- Constantly look for better ways of solving technical problems and designing solutions; be excited at challenging the “normal” way of doing things
