Manufacturing Systems Engineer
Work Location: Gladstone, Queensland
FFI is transforming regional Australia through green industry manufacturing with a Global Green Energy Manufacturing Centre (GEM) in Gladstone, Queensland. Stage one of the six-stage project will establish Australia’s first multi-gigawatt-scale electrolyser factory – a world-class facility with an initial capacity of 2 gigawatts (GW) per annum – more than doubling current global production.
Reporting to the Manufacturing Operations Senior Manager, you will be responsible for working with the business to document business requests, design and test business processes, and train end users on business process and tools. You will also be required to contribute to ongoing support and continuous improvement activities.
This role will see you liaising with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, so you will need to have great communication skills, a resilient attitude and ability to take on varying challenges on a day -to day basis. You will also be driven to achieve and keen to learn. Key accountabilities will include:
- Design, develop, implement and maintain a high level of understanding of SAP manufacturing module including but not limited to Production Engineering, Production Planning, Production Operations, APIs (Application Programming Interface), Quality Management (QM), Supply Chain, Warehouse and Materials Management technical, functional, business processes and requirements, with a continual view to identifying business improvement opportunities.
- Develop process maps and define current business practices
- Deliver continuous improvements based on the strategic vision and daily operational needs of business end users for system tools
- Develop tools & processes to integrate local systems with SAP
- Lead internal testing and coordinate the testing with business end users as well as document and maintain standard work packages
- Provide fast and reliable support to operations to troubleshoot and fix operational issues related to systems integrations, data quality and reporting
- Preparing, refining and work towards automation of test scripts to reflect enhancements and interface requirements of SAP manufacturing
- Responsible for developing key performance indicators (KPIs), visualizations, and analysis solutions using various reporting tools by working closely with other technical and business teams to gather the requirements and produce a useful set of reporting solution
- Must be able to be able to plan and manage own workload with minimal oversight and escalating where necessary to address potential risks or resolve issues

Qualifications and skills required:
- An Undergraduate Degree or equivalent experience is required
- SAP Certification is desirable
- Functional and Technical knowledge of SAP Manufacturing configuration, SAP S/4 Hana is desirable or in-depth knowledge of the SAP Manufacturing (DMC), Supply Chain, MM, PP, QM, PM modules
- Experience in system tools integration within SAP in manufacturing environment
- Broad knowledge of manufacturing operations, business processes, business tools and the flow of data
- Knowledge of IT hardware and networking solutions is an advantage
- Strong ability to converse with both end-users and IT employees at all levels of the organisation
- Sound technical specification writing/documentation skills
- An appreciation of both IT and business strategy
- Strong customer service focus
