Job Description:

The Sweeney Lab in the Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics is seeking a responsible individual to work 5-15 hours per week as a laboratory and administrative assistant. Duties will include, but not be limited to learning how to manage the day to day activities of a lab through experiment preparation, autoclaving and lab safety sanitation, and supply monitoring and ordering as well as various administrative duties such as website updates, assisting with bi-monthly seminars, and conference material preparation. This position includes the opportunity to learn on the job and grow into additional duties and experiences.

Requires strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions with good work ethic. Prior laboratory experience preferred, but not required, proficiency at Microsoft Office required. Position will provide the opportunity to develop basic molecular/biochemical techniques and histological analyses associated with the study of muscular dystrophy as well as administrative and interpersonal skills.

Expected Salary:

$11-$13 per hour

    • Strong attention to detail, ability to follow precise instructions, and good communication are required.
