Work Location: Fortescue Centre. Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.

Principal Sustainable Procurement
Reporting to the Manager Procurement Systems & Analytics, the Principal Sustainable Procurement will play a key role in ensuring Fortescue’s ambitious sustainability targets are met. These include the commitment to respect the human rights of all people with a focus on the eradication of modern slavery; decarbonisation of the supply chain to help achieve net zero Scope 3 emissions by 2040; optimising supply chain waste management; and supporting local business growth and development.

Key responsibilities include:
- Identify, assess and manage sustainability risks relating to Procurement & Logistics
- Develop, review, and improve policies, procedures and processes required to support the effective implementation of sustainable procurement objectives
- Engage and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on human rights and other sustainability matters
- Regular assessment of third-party sustainable procurement related systems for fitness-for-purpose and effective integration into Procurement and Logistics activities
- Support training and sharing of information with Procurement and Logistics team members to increase awareness and understanding of sustainable procurement considerations
- Support the implementation of commitments made under Fortescue’s annual Modern Slavery Statement and Sustainability Strategy
- Act as subject matter expert for internal and external human rights impacts relating to Fortescue’s supply chain
To be successful for this role, you will have the following:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related discipline
- 5-10 years’ experience in procurement activities, in particular contracts sourcing and management, with exposure to sustainable procurement and the management of modern slavery risks
- Strong understanding of data analysis and ability to integrate findings into sustainable supply chain management
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
