Job Description:

The University of Florida Pet Emergency Treatment Services in Ocala, FL is seeking an experienced Assistant Manager to oversee key operations at our small animal emergency hospital. The Assistant Manager is responsible for the management of personnel, facilities & equipment as well as working in conjunction with the Practice Manager on budgets and general hospital operations. The critical competencies for this position include analytical skills, relationship building, excellent communication skills, and the ability to plan and prioritize. Experience with managing a team and management of medical equipment is preferred. This position requires a post-offer health assessment and background check.

Expected Salary:

$40,000 - $55,000 annually, salary based on experience

Minimum Requirements:

Associate’s degree and four years of relevant experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and six years of relevant experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute an equivalent rate for the required experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge and experience working in a veterinary clinic
Understand basic medical terminology
Experience and successful track record leading and supervising a team
Experience managing a budget
Able to create, interpret and analyze data-driven reports
Demonstrate consistent professional conduct and meticulous attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as interpersonal skills with patients, staff, and other members of the patient care team
Critical thinking skills and a positive attitude; Able to think independently and demonstrate good problem-solving skills
Strong organizational skills
Bilingual- Spanish/English
