Job Description: | A Veterinary Technician in the Zoological Medicine Service at the University of Florida Small Animal Hospital provides nursing care to a wide variety of species including both exotic and wildlife patients, assisting with receiving appointments, performing routine and complex anesthesia, surgical and dental procedures, and is involved in every aspect of patient care. This service has a high caseload of patients for both routine and emergency care and technicians in this team must thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy teaching nursing skills, be driven to learn new approaches frequently, and appreciate a team-oriented approach to veterinary care. This position is considered essential personnel The ideal candidate has ample veterinary experience in wildlife/exotic medicine. Examples of work include but not limited to: |
Expected Salary: | $18- $25, pay based on credentialing and experience |
Minimum Requirements: | Tech I: High school diploma or equivalent and one year relevant experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience. Tech II: Credentialed veterinary technician. |
Preferred Qualifications: | Credentialed technician |
