Classification Title:Biological Scientist II
Job Description
  • Experimental design and implementation of treatments which entails the laying out and application of treatments in experimental plots and maintenance of experiments in the field
  • Collection of soil and tissue samples to determine plant growth, yield, and other measurements
  • Interpretation of results through organization of data, inputting of data, running statistical analysis, generation of reports, scientific literature reviews, and interfacing with cooperators.
  • Development of novel materials and methods for biological data collection and statistical analysis of data may also be required.
Expected Salary:

Salary is commensurate with education and experience

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in biology or a closely related field and three years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree in biology or a closely related field and one year of relevant experience. Doctoral degree in biology or a closely related field.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • MS in horticulture, agronomy, soil science, agricultural engineering or other related field or a BS in related field with three years of experience.
  • Knowledge of terminology, principles, and techniques used in applied crop productions research
  • Skill in use of scientific laboratory and field equipment and computers
  • Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments
  • Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques
