Base Location: Aberdeen, Glasgow, Inverness or Perth.

Salary: Up to £66,000 + car/cash allowance + annual bonus + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible working options available.

What is the Role?

SSEN Transmission is currently recruiting for a Cable Project Engineer to support our growing portfolio of projects.

The key duties & responsibilities will be:

- Provide cable engineering support across multiple projects by producing outline cable system designs during development phases, including: underground cable routing selection, review and assessment of technology options, producing current rating calculations using CYMCAP software and assessment interface requirements.

- Developing technical scopes and specifications for new underground cable projects as well as modifications to existing assets.

- Reviewing and verifying contractor/consultant detailed underground cable system designs and witnessing FAT's.

- Providing technical support to site teams to ensure quality of installations and cable commissioning activities.

- Evaluate tenders and procure and manage specialist services from consultants.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- Demonstrable technical skills in Transmission voltage level underground cable systems development, design and specification or demonstrable transferable skills and experience.

- You will have the confidence to technically assess problems and critically assess a range of technical solutions.

- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to demonstrate diligence and prioritise tasks.

- An understanding of the legislation and implications for the Transmission network management for both Assets and Projects, including CDM & ESQCR.

- Preferably hold, or be working towards a degree in an appropriate engineering discipline.
